Forestry Dictionary
The forestry dictionary is a common product of the members of the Forestry Demo Fairs. The needs to find the right forestry and timber trade word in different languages is increasing in our more and more globalised world. The more than 2000 words are translated into English, German, French, Swedish, Finnish, Spanish, Portuguese and, on the Internet, even Latin for botanical species.
New! Thanks to the Eurosilvasur project we have been able to complete the Spanish version and also add Portuguese!
The "original" forestry dictionary is to be found here and it is continuously being developed by the members of the network. We have also a printed edition, based on the Internet version from late April 2000. Please note that local or national differences in expressions are not taken into consideration. Until today we have concentrated on European expressions, therefore the differences between British and American English and French and Canadian French are not entered in the dictionary.
The forestry dictionary will never be complete or perfect. But we hope it will be of use for everyone working in the international world of forestry and timber trade.
